The closest real dirt to north Phoenix: Cave Creek Road turns to graded dirt past Bartlett junction and climbs through Seven Springs and CCC Campground toward Bloody Basin. Washboard and a few rocky climbs, nothing technical. Good shakedown ride for a new build or a first moto-camp. Seven Springs has water and tables. Extend north on FR 269 to the Verde for an overnight.
